According to the Honduran National Aquaculture Association (Andah), the local court of Sinaloa, Mexico, has approved the entry of cooked shrimp from Honduras. This means that cooked shrimp products from Honduras can now be legally sold in the Mexican market.
This is undoubtedly good news for farmers and exporters who just experienced Mexico's ban on the import of Honduran shrimp products last month.
But the fresh shrimp market is still not open.

The ban on Central America caused Honduras' aquaculture industry to lose $7 million
The Mexican government announced in February this year that it would suspend the import of farmed shrimp products from Central American countries. This move undoubtedly had a great impact on the relevant industries in Honduras.
According to data released by the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH): From January to November 23, Mexico was the second largest export destination for Honduras' farmed shrimp, with an export volume of 8,759 tons, accounting for 27% of Honduras' total farmed shrimp exports.
Shrimp is the export product with the largest decline in Honduras' foreign exchange income. Mexico's approval of the entry of cooked shrimp will alleviate the foreign exchange problems faced by Honduras to a certain extent.
